Personal Reactions

In this section, discuss your personal reactions to what you are, or have, read. Did you make any connections to your life, current events, other books or movies? Did you like or dislike it? This is a spot for you to spout out your personal opinion on your novel-of-choice.

Conflicts

Discuss the conflicts in your novel. How are some of these conflicts resolved?

Themes/Lessons

What seem to be the themes or lessons in your book? What is your character learning? What do you think the author is trying to teach the reader? What's the moral of the story?

Describe The Setting

In this section you should write about the setting of your book. Begin by describing the physical location- country, state, city, etc. But also consider the "mood" of the setting.

Describe Your Main Character(s)

In this section you should write about your main character(s). Go beyond their physical description- but consider "what makes him/her tick"? Is he/she likeable? Etc.

English 12- Choice Novel Postings

Greetings- welcome to the English 12- Spring 2009 Blog.
For this unit you will be required to write about your novel through our class Blog.

You will be expected to make comments in each of the five categories. In order to earn the highest grade for this activity, you will be expected to make two comments for each category. One comment should be strictly responding to the assigned topic.

The second comment should be one in which you have read your classmates' comments, and write about a connection you make to somebody in the class. For example, perhaps you found a connection between your main characters. Or maybe you vacationed in the location of somebody's setting. Maybe you notice similar type conflicts between novels.

Be thoughtful- share your wisdom with others- impress your classmates with your intelligence!
