  1. My reaction to my book crossing the wire is involved deeply in current events. This is because it talks about a mexican boy trying to cross the border to america and currently we have a problem with immigration from mexico. I like the story because it gives the mexicans point of view. He is only trying to cross the border to make enough money to send home for his family to survive on.

  2. To me it seems like Bret is trying to hard in life. Yes his parents are divorced but trying to make connections with both his mom and dad i better than hating one or the other. I know when i was a teenager i had many choices in my life that would change me now and in the future. Also within his school he should try a bit more in his classes and not be a total douch about things and not being a smartmouth. I have a feeling that Bret will change his life and get back on track and live a better one.

  3. I love and dislike my book at the same time. In my book there is a beautiul love story that makes you happy to read it makes you want it. It shows how much love can really help your life and make everthing seem ok. However at the same time there is also a women that is getting her heart broke more and more as the book goes on. She thought she had love but the man ended up being a cheat. This is a really good book you get sucked into it you feel for all the people and what they are going through.

  4. My reaction to my book. I didn't really like the ending to my book because Robert's pig had to be butchered because they tried to breed her with another pig and Robert's dad died in his sleep.

  5. When I first started reading Impulse I was kind of disturbed from some of the description. I really like this book though. I like the format of the book. Each chapter is a poem to form a novel. I think this book is really interesting.

  6. The book Shimmer is pretty interesting. The author does a good job keeping it pretty intense so I am not having a problem staying into it. The author does a good job describing the scenes of the story too so it feels like you know the whole background and what everyone is feeling.

  7. My reaction to the book Impulse:

Honestly, when I started reading the book or just read the back cover I wasn't so sure I should be reading the book and that it would be of any accuracy. But, I was wrong. It's hard for me to read at times because it is so accurate and it brings up a lot of feelings and thoughts that I've encountered. The book does lack the really clear and in depth feelings I think that we have when in a place like that. We're stubborn - "fuck you" is the attitude we put out there because we don't think that we need help and even if we did we don't that we will receive it from this place. That's what this book didn't convey and that's a really important message. Some of the parts in the book is so accurate, however, that it makes me wonder if the author has been in a similar place because usually when people talk about Psychiatric Hospitals a lot of pre-misconceptions are made about it and people get the wrong picture.

It's a really good book - well written. But, sometimes it's so emotionally reeling that I can't pick it up for a while. The key to well-being is moderation.

It still confuses me at times because I can't stay focused when I read it and so much has went on throughout the book already. I think the author is good at reminding me of what is going on with each character, though, which is nice because it has about 700 pages and if that wouldn't have been the case I would have given up on the book a while ago.

I would recommend it especially to people who enjoy pondering the wonders of life and the worthiness of living.

  8. I really liked reading Executive Decision because its filled with constant excitement. with the main character being a top counterterrorist spy for the CIA working with a highly trained team of navy seals its thrilling and keeps me interested. its not hard to read either and the story stays together.

  9. I like reading Red Earth White Earth because it is like my life. Its about farming with all the problems and prosparities and personal issues too. In one part of the book the main character, Guy, takes a gamble on raising flax and it goes good for him when its growing but at harvest time he loses it all because of rain. The author really shows how much farming is a gamble.
The book is a easy read and so far im hooked.

  10. At frist when I had picked the book The kind of friends we used to be." I had read the inside cover and thought that it might be good. when I had started the book I thought that maybe it was not such a good choice but I figured that I should at least give it a try so i did. It turns out after all it really was not so bad. Also some parts of this book were very intresting. So i had enjoyed reading about a gril that loves to play the guitar. she always thought that she sould also change her apperance. It is a very easy quick read book.

  11. My reaction to my book (Impulse) is similar to Shane's reaction to his book, "Shimmer."
I thought that parts of the book were intense and so well written (descriptive, and emotional) that you can't peel your face from it for a while.
That's what makes a good book in my opinion.

  12. I am reading Handle with Care, by Jodi Picoult. I am really enjoying reading about a little girl names Willow, who has O.I. (Osteogenesis Imperfecta. O.I. is a deasease that causes bones to be very brittl and break very easily. Wilow is only five bit she has had hundreds of breaks.
With this horrible desiese, Willow will never experiance many things in life, such as ice skating, jumping off the play ground roller skating, and basically anything involving physical contact with other kids.
In the first few chapters, Willow and her family go to disney land for a vacation. All is looking good untill Willow slips on a napkin and falls breaking her leg. Unfortunatly when they took her to the hospital and took X-rays, they found hundreds of healing breaks and fractures. When seeing that the Doctor assumed that Willow and her sister Amilia are being Abused and calls protective services and takes them away.
Reading about Willow and eveything that this family has givin up to make her life better really strikes a nerve with me. It really digs deep because i think about familys i know dealing with disabled family members and i realize it is not easy. Today in america i think that it takes alot of patients and time to understand and fully care for a disabled child, and i think that too often the care for them is not givin properly.

  13. At the beginning of my story i was really shocked that Edward was actually going to leave Bella. Than when i found out that Jake was a werewolf and started ditching her to i wasnt really sure where the story was going to turn. But than when she found out about jake it made the story a lot more interesting.

  14. My book and adams book sound similar because his main character and mine don't show much enthusiasm in life and their parents get diovorced also.

  17. My book Exit Here, is very touching in my opinion......

I know that this is a fictional book and all but.......just reading the words that flow out onto the page, you can actually feel the pain that the main character, Travis Wayne, is in.....and it makes you just want to cry for him.....

I do know a few people who are going through the same thing that Travis is and for me it goes deep when I read......for those of you out there i recomend that you read this book for some people it will really open your eyes.....trust me....it opened mine.......

  18. When i got to the part that Edward left Bella but i knew that he would end up coming back to her i really didnt think that i would take it to the end of the book for that to happen.

  19. Much like in Punky 300's book I can feel what the people in my book feel. The way the words are put on the page it makes what they go through real to you. When they are sad you feel sad for them.

  20. My reaction is kinda like shanes
The author, Ellen Hopkins in my book, Impulse does a really good job of keeping things interesting and intense.. which makes you want to keep reading
The format of telling the experience through the eyes of each character really helps the reader to know what each character is feeling throughout each situation in the book

  21. i would say that my book reaction connects with try4therpy. Because at frist i thought that it was kind of slow but it kind of picked up after aobut the frist 100 or so pages. It turned out kind of cool at the end.

  23. I can totally connect with Adams charicter. I am in the middle of a divorce between my parents right now, and it is so hard not to get mad at them and not to hate one of them. When you are going through something like that it is really hard to stay focused and care about things you know are improtant. But eventually you do get back on track and you find a way to deal, while still living your life. Its almost like having a double identity.

  25. I could relate to a lot of the things going on in my book Twilight. I don't have a vampire boyfriend that loves the scent of me, But i have had a boyfriend. I believe love is love, even if it is a vampire. I've had a boyfriend that many people have disagreed with. At first Bella didn't want to tell her father Charlie about Edward because she was scared of his reaction. My first boyfriend i was so nervous to tell my mom about, and I'm assuming that if her was a vampire it would be ten times harder. Bella moved to Fork at the start of the story, she had to make new friends start new classes, basically start over. I started over this year at Annandale making new friends and starting new classes. I really can relate to Bella in many ways.

  26. All in all my book was pretty good. It had action, adventure, and some pretty sweet shoot outs. The end was predictible though, and wasn't my favorite part of the book. Because the book started out in the present and then went to a flashback sort of thing it was hard to follow until the end.

  27. I feel like my reaction to my book was different than a lot of peoples. Most people said their book started out slow and then got really good and had a good ending. I didn't feel like my book started out slow, and I really didn't like then ending.

  28. In my book Rolling Thunder, I believe there is a big connection to many racing teams now days to because this driver Rob is a stubborn race car driver who wont stop racing for anything. I can connect to this because I don't let anything stop from what I love to do either.

  29. Like in Adams book, my book has a main character that trys to impress people by racing styles and just trying to be the best but you cant get to high on or self either.

  30. i got the same feeling as shane because the author of my book also does a good job of setting up the story line. he keeps it exciting and i feel drawn in to each character.

  31. the first two chapters of my book are kind of confusing because, the author starts years later in the first chapter, then the main character, rusty james, meets steve an old friend of his. then in the second chapter it goes into a flash back when he was 14 or somewhere around there. but other than that I liked the book rumble fish because i could relate to rusty james in some of his situations.

  36. I read the book Guns of The Timberlands by Louis L’amour. I liked the book because I can somewhat connect to it. In my book somebody rich and powerful comes into this town, and is used to getting what he wants and never has lost a fight. Well when he comes to town he plans to log of a man's land. The man's name is Clay Bell and clay refuses to let him take his land. The reason I like it is Clay refuses to let people push him around, even though the man is rich, big and powerful. I also think that you shouldn't let people push you around in life no matter who they are, you should always fight for what you think is right.

  37. I agree with JR on this reaction to his book because in my book America is not backing down to the Taliban. Im glad that somebody is standing up for what they believe in. If we let the whole World take what they want we would have one dictator and not be able to do anything we please like we do now =)

  38. I like my book because it always has small climaxes that keep me actually reading the book. I am not able to connect to many books, but htis book reminds me of call of duty and I am finally able to like it. I like playing x box and i am put into similar situations on x box live.

  41. I read the book Sam's letters to Jennifer, by James Patterson. This book was by far the best book i have ever read. Its so flowing and touching and at times it made me cry. I loved how deatailed it was and every sentance or word i read i had a clear visual while i was reading. This book really amazed me, and it has a lot of connections to real life happenings. My main Character Jennifer reads 170 total letters from her grandmother finding new stuff about sam in each letter showing Jen a different chapter in her life. A lot of sad things kept coming up in Jennifers life, like her grandmother being in the hospital, her husband Danny dying, Jen having a miscarige, her grandfather and grandmother dying, Brendon having a tumor and making it through surgery and Sam's secret lover, which brings this story together in such a sad but dearing way.

  51. Like Kayla's comment, my book really relates to love and how easy it could be to get your heart broken. She says that love can make everything okay, after reading my book and seeing how strong there love is i honestly believe that love can get anyone through anything and its a very powerful emotion.
